SmartStock — Clearance Management App for Shopify

What We Do

SmartStock is a Shopify app that helps merchants automate clearance pricing. It adjusts product prices based on rules you configure and identifies slow-moving inventory through sales analytics.

Data We Collect

We only collect data necessary to operate the app. We do not collect or store any customer personal information (names, emails, addresses, payment details).

From Your Shopify Store

• Product data — Product titles, variant titles, prices, compare-at prices, SKUs, barcodes, inventory quantities, tags, vendor, and product type. Used to display products in the app and apply price changes.
• Order line items — Order ID, product ID, variant ID, quantity, price, and order date. Used solely to determine when products last sold for dead stock detection and clearance timer resets. No customer information from orders is accessed or stored.
• Shop domain — Your myshopify.com domain, used to associate your data with your store.

Data We Generate

• Clearance rules — The markdown rules you create (discount percentages, intervals, floor prices).
• Price change log — An audit trail of every price change made by the app, including before/after prices and timestamps.
• Dead stock configuration — Your settings for the dead stock analytics feature (time window, excluded tags).

How We Use Your Data

• Apply automated price markdowns to your products via the Shopify Admin API
• Detect products that haven't sold within your configured time window
• Reset markdown timers when a sale occurs
• Show analytics and price change history in the app dashboard
• Restore original prices when you deactivate a rule or uninstall the app

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase with row-level security enabled. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We use Shopify's official authentication and session management to secure access to your store's data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. Your data is only accessed by the SmartStock app to provide its functionality.

Data Retention

• Your data is retained for as long as the app is installed on your store.
• When you uninstall the app, all active clearance prices are restored to their originals.
• Upon receiving a shop data erasure request (GDPR), all data associated with your store is permanently deleted.

GDPR Compliance

SmartStock supports all mandatory Shopify GDPR webhooks:

• Customer data request — We report that no customer personal information is stored.
• Customer data erasure — We delete any order line-item records associated with the specified customer's orders.
• Shop data erasure — We delete all data associated with your store, including rules, price logs, sales records, and configuration.

Shopify API Scopes

SmartStock requests the following permissions:

• read_products / write_products — To read product data and update prices
• read_orders — To access order history for dead stock analytics (line items only, no customer data)

Your Rights

You can:

• View all data the app holds about your store within the app dashboard
• Delete individual clearance rules and their associated data at any time
• Uninstall the app to trigger price restoration and eventual data deletion
